I have little to no experience with this particular genre of literature. "Bad" books in general is a bit of a foreign topic, but I think that it's reasonable that people who want to rate movies, television, and video games would continue this trend with books.

Censorship, obviously, is something to be avoided, but that doesn't really seem like the issue here. This is more like trying to prevent children from being exposed to something that parents dislike. That's a tough topic. If I was a parent, I don't think I'd want my child reading something that I don't want them exposed to, but neither would I want to shelter them from something without reason.

When I was younger my mom read the "Little House" series aloud to my brother and sister and I, and she decided to skip a chapter about Santa Claus not being real because my 4 year old sister was still in the Santa Claus phase. I don't really view this as problematic, or as censorship, but perhaps it's a bit of a different issue.
